The Jed Foundation Joins Glenn Close and National Mental Health Organizations to Launch BringChange2Mind.org
October 21, 2009

The Jed Foundation is joining over a dozen national mental health organizations in supporting BringChange2Mind.org, a national anti-stigma campaign.  The campaign's website (http://www.bringchange2mind.org) and a public service announcement featuring Glenn Close and directed by Ron Howard launched nationwide on October 21, 2009.  As part of the launch, Glenn Close appeared on Good Morning America (ABC), The View (ABC) and Dr. Nancy (msnbc) on Wednesday, October 21st.

The idea of a national anti-stigma campaign was born out of a volunteer experience Glenn Close had at Fountain House, a professional self-help program for adults living with severe mental illness. Glenn volunteered in order to learn about mental illness, which impacts both her sister and nephew.  Inspired by her experience, she joined forces with the Child and Adolscent Bipolar Foundation, Fountain House, and Garen and Shari Staglin of Inernational Mental Health Research Organization, to create BringChange2Mind.org,

The Jed Foundation has joined an incredible group of organizations in supporting and promoting this campaign, including Active Minds, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, International Mental Health Research Organization, Mental Health America, National Alliance on Mental Health, NARSAD, National Institute of Mental Health, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services.
