The Jed Foundation's Eighth Annual Gala A Success

The Jed Foundation’s eighth annual gala brought together long-time supporters and fresh new faces to celebrate the foundation’s achievements and to raise funds and awareness for student mental health.

The Foundation honored three remarkable individuals for their commitment to mental health awareness: Pete Wentz from the Grammy-nominated band Fall Out Boy, President of Documentary and Family Programming for HBO Sheila Nevins, and GLBT mental health student activist Adam Taylor of Western Michigan University.

Singer Kristy Cates of Broadway's Wicked and Kevin Bacon's band The Bacon Brothers performed.

Former Dateline NBC news anchor Stone Phillips hosted the gala, and Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes, actress Heather Matarazzo of Welcome to the Dollhouse, President of MTV Stephen Friedman, and actress Brittany Snow of Hairspray presented awards as well.

Brittany also hosted the Mind Ball afterparty, with DJ Jake Hoffman and band Custom performing for party-goers.

The event exceeded fundraising goals and raised over a million dollars for The Jed Foundation’s work. It was widely covered in People, Woman.ca and Wowowow, and these media outlets:
