The online world of social networks like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace provides many different avenues for people to discuss suicide. In this changing world, SAMHSA and SPAN-USA have sponsored the New Media and Suicide Prevention Summit, bringing together suicide prevention organizations and advocates, communications experts, and researchers to discuss suicide prevention, intervention and postvention online. The Jed Foundation is attending the summit, along with representatives from National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, To Write Love on Her Arms, and many others.
Be sure to check out The Jed Foundation on Facebook, MySpace and YouTube, and follow live updates on Twitter.
