The Jed Foundation Statement on Release of U.S. Presidential Candidate Positions on Mental Health and Addiction

New York, N.Y., August 27, 2019 — The Jed Foundation (JED) is a proud member of Mental Health For US, a nonpartisan, educational coalition elevating mental health and addiction in policy conversations around the country. Today, the coalition released candidate responses to their survey which asked 11 questions addressing suicide and drug overdose, criminal justice reform, equal access to care, and more.

“Rates of mental health issues and suicide in the US are alarmingly high, and it’s critically important that our elected leaders are dedicated to addressing these issues,” said Katie Cunningham, the Chief Programs and Operations Officer at JED. “As a member of Mental Health for US, The Jed Foundation is proud to ensure information about US Presidential candidate positions on mental health are available for the general public.”
